The session is designed to help small businesses determine who is an employee and who is an independent contractor, and learn why the classification is important. For sole proprietors providing services to others, knowing whether you should be treated as an employee or as a contractor is critical.

Kim and Rebecca’s presentation will include guidance on independent contractor criteria from federal and state agencies, an overview of the new Maine law in 2013, and what attendees can do to protect themselves.
