KMA’s Anita Krieg will present “New Employer 101” at Southern Maine Community College’s annual “Launch or GROW SMCC Small Business Success Conference.”

The conference is a dynamic, content-filled one-day event for small business owners interested in growing their businesses and those interested in launching a small business someday.

Anita’s presentation is at 11:30 am. It includes an overview of employer responsibilities and good HR practices with a focus on requirements for the small employer, including new hire paperwork and reporting, payroll, employment posters and notices, workers’ and unemployment compensation, employee files and record-keeping, employment policies, employee compensation and benefits, and training.

The conference includes a keynote presentation at 9 am, breakout sessions, a vendor fair, a live “Shark Tank,” and ample time for networking. It is geared especially towards small business owners, direct sales professionals, independent business consultants, self-employed individuals, and anyone interested in business ownership (including students).
