How important has mentorship been in your career?
“I’ve always understood the importance of mentors and have benefitted enormously from them, but only later in my career did I find women mentors. I’ve seen men push women into traditional ways of doing business, whereas we really need to find our own ways to be successful. Conditions are changing and often improve when women achieve a critical mass in the workplace, but women still shoulder far more of the burden of family life. We’ve seen devastating results of this imbalance during the pandemic. I feel a deep responsibility to mentor young women, and doing so gives me much optimism for the next generation of leaders.”
