The 2nd Annual Portland Wine Opener to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will be held Friday, November 8, from 6 to 9 pm at Ocean Gateway, 2 Commercial Street in Portland, Maine. The CF Foundation is a donor-supported nonprofit organization, and the world’s leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that affects some 30,000 children and adults in the United States, leading to their premature deaths.
Peter Anania, brother in law of KMA’s Kim Anania, will be honored at the event with the Foundation’s “Hope Award” which recognizes efforts to support lifesaving cystic fibrosis research. Peter is the Chairman of Anania & Associates Investment Company LLC (AAI), a private investment fund that focuses on manufacturing, service, and distribution sectors.
The Portland Wine Opener is a fund-raising event for the Foundation. It features hors d’oeuvres and deserts from local restaurants, auctions, and entertainment by a local jazz group, with all proceeds benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Their goal is to raise $40,000 this year.
Tickets are $50, of which $25 is tax-deductible. To purchase, visit the events page of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Web site.
