Employers must have had at least 15 employees in the state of Maine, and must have applied to participate in the program by May 23, 2014. While there was a fee to participate in the program, based on employer size, this was not a pay to play program. Whether a company made the list depended solely on results from surveys of company employees conducted by Best Companies Group that looked at company employee benefits and policies as well as employee engagement and satisfaction.

As an HR consulting and organizational development company, KMA is always interested in efforts made by companies to improve the quality of their workplace environments. It’s good for a company’s employees, its customers, and ultimately the company’s bottom line.
