What was the most useful feedback you ever received?
“Be less humble. This gracious and diplomatic feedback was offered to my 25 year-old self in an employee review. Today I use those words like a mantra when I am concerned about engaging in a tough conversation or offering a contrary opinion. We should feel confident in using our voice and offering our opinion. Our ideas are good and those around us want to hear them. Humility is an important characteristic which serves us well working within an organization and as a leader, but don’t let it be a mask for a lack of confidence or fear of speaking up.”
